Maurice Singleton, Director of diversity affairs, has worked hard to find an opportunity for our drapery business to do work for the Beau Rivage, Resort Hotel and Casino, in Biloxi MS. In November of 2003 we started recovering the booth seats in the buffet area. Our previous knowledge of upholstery was limited to light work covering chairs and stools. They were able to bring us into their Upholstery Shop for additional training to recover larger items. We were able to recover 8 seats a week matching the in house crew. Our production allowed us to complete this project ourselves in record time allowing the in house upholstery team to work on other projects.
Because of this relationship we have networked with a larger upholstery shop, and we are re covering sofa’s and sectionals for the hotel. Vanessa and I are able to offer these upholstery services to our new clients and new decorators thanks to the Beau Rivage.
In April 2004, Vanessa and I was the guest of the MGM Entertainment, parent company to the Beau Rivage. CEO Terry Lamey was delivering his annual diversity report. He was pleased to hear about the work us doing for the Biloxi property. He and his Staff encouraged us to keep up the good work and to explore greater opportunities. Vanessa took a picture with Terry Lamey, CEO MGM and Putnam, Director of Diversity Affairs MGM, You have probably seen and heard about how God has been tremendously blessing us over the last couple of years. We have been blessed with over 4 additional Home Depot stores to install blinds for, as well as ourselves, two new wonderful emplolyees that work deligently with us, two new company vans, and also more equipment.

NEW FACES ON OUR TEAM Together Everybody Achieves More, and besides that, the work load has gotten unbearable for just us to manage. We had no other choice but to seek for help. The Lord led us to Maurice Surrell, Sr. and his son Maurice Surrell, Jr. They both live in Jackson and has found great contentment working with V.R. Norman. Keep up the good work guys!!

NEW COMPANY VEHICLES To reduce the hectic everyday struggle of gas mileage conflicts, increasing mile on vehicles, and space, V.R. Norman has purchased two new company vans. They will strictly be used to travel to and from jobs and the same rules will apply to the other company vehicles. A copy of those rules are available to be viewed in the company manual.

MORE EQUIPMENT More employees means more tools, so we have purchased brand new tools for tool belts, vehicles, and other things that require the use of the company tools. Also, we have recently developed an inventory list that each worker will receive to keep up with his or her tools.
CATCHING ON TO THE VISION If you have any questions or comments concerning anything, please feel free to call us at anytime.
